Heartwoms (Dirofilaria immitis) are endemic in the southeastern United States.  These potentially fatal parasies are virtually 100 % preventable with the regular use of a monthly heartworm preventative.

Dogs should be tested annually and be maintained on a monthy preventative in accordance to the guidelines set forth by the American Heartworm Society.

Cats do not need to be tested annualy, howver monthly prevention is STRONGLY recommended for outdoor AND indoor cats.
