The Feline vaccination recommendations at Apalachee River Animal Hospital are based upon the vaccine guidelines oulined by the American Association of Feline Practicioners (AAFP).  We use the Feline PureVax line of vaccinations for our feline patients, we feel that these are the safest vaccination products available at the present time.

CORE Vacccinations:

Rabies- Administered at about 12 weeks of age and boostered annually.

FVRCP (Herpes virus-1, Calici, Panleukopenia) - Administerd initially at about 8 weeks of age, boostered every 3 weeks until 16 weeks, boosterd at 1 year of age, and then every 3 years thereafter.

Feline Leukemia - Vaccination for feline Leukemia is considered a CORE vaccination for kittens.  Initially given at about 9 weeks of age, boosterd in 3 weeks, and then boosterd again at 1 year of age.  After the booster at a year of age, your cats lifestyle is evaluated and a determination is made if vaccination is still recommended.
