Requirements for inpatient care in our animal hospital:
If your pet(s) are admitted to our hospital for care such as boarding, daycare, baths, grooming, dental services, or surgery, they must be current on the following Core vaccinations (see our Vaccination Section for our policies and philosophy)
Dogs: DHPP (Canine distemper series), Rabies, and Bordetella (Kennel Cough) vaccinations.
Cats: FVRCP (Feline Distemper series) and Rabies
All vaccinations MUST have been administered under the direct supervision of a Veterinarian.
All pets must have proof of a negative Intestinal Parasite Test (fecal) within the past six months.
These requirements are for the protection of your pets as well as the other pets in the hospital and our staff.
Pet Preventative Care
Our veterinarians feel that preventative care is the hallmark of good health and a long life. Preventative care visits are scheduled with the same veterinarian on a regular basis. We feel this provides the best long-term care as it gives our doctors an opportunity to really get to know your pet and better note small changes in their health.
Senior Pet Care
Senior pets have special needs as they age. The best way to help protect your pet as he or she ages is to understand the aging process in pets. We understand that process and can help you help your pet.
Sick Pet Care
If your pet is sick, we want to see them as soon as possible. We reserve same-day sick appointments for our patients so there is always room to see your pet if they are sick. Less urgent sick visits can often be scheduled with your pet’s regular veterinarian at a time that is convenient for you.
Pet Ultrasound
Ultrasonography is a completely non-invasive, painless way to diagnose and evaluate many common diseases. Ultrasonography uses high-frequency sound (ultrasound) waves to create a picture of what is inside your pet’s body.
Pet Surgery
When your pet needs surgery we understand that can be a stressful time. We want to make the procedure as easy on your pet as possible and the post-operative care easy on their owners. We start all of our surgeries or anesthetic procedures with a pre-anesthetic exam.
Pet Dentistry
Just as it’s important for you to see a dentist regularly, it’s important for dogs and cats as well. Your pet’s oral health is directly connected to their overall health.
Pet Cold Laser Therapy
The cold laser uses photochemical (not thermal) light therapy to stimulate cell growth. This stimulation of cell growth decreases inflammation which alleviates pain, provides rapid wound healing and tissue repair. It is a non-invasive treatment process for your pet.
Pet Boarding & Daycare
Here at Apalachee River Animal Hospital, your pets aren’t just boarding! Dogs and cats enjoy their own vacations here at our boarding facilities. While you are away, your pets are supervised by our trained kennel attendants. Our staff members monitor all aspects of your pet’s care and well-being while they stay with us. In the event that changes occur or should medical concerns arise, our veterinarians are available to offer immediate medical care.
Pet Bathing
We want your pet to look and feel their very best. Both dogs and cats deserve to be properly groomed. We offer bathing and blow-dry. Part of keeping your pets healthy is keeping them clean!
